Sports attentionSomeone once said, There are those who compel things happen, those whowatch things happen, and those who interview what happened. I consider myself oneof those rare people who really knows how to make things happen. I break gonefrom be a follower to being a leader, from being someone who was shy anduncertain to a mortal who is self-confident and assertive. It has been aremarkable metamorphosis, and it has changed my future professional plans andpersonal goals.The waking up of my independence happened during the end of my softballseason my freshman course in college when my head coach had cut my scholarshipbecause of lack of funding. I was approach with making my first mature decisioninto what my future was to hold. The following year I transferred to doubting ThomasCollege hoping to play ball a descend which did not materialize because there werenot enough players recruited to start the softball program. At Thomas College,I realized that I was going to scho ol for the wrong land -- to play ball. Theidea hit me that being at Thomas College was not going to get me where I wantedto go in life. I then transferred to the University of dance, where I ampresently. I wanted to pursue a sport management degree, while using myathletic abilities to participate in softball. I have no regrets on thedecisions I have made, because I would never be the person I am forthwith or havemet all of the key people along the way. end-to-end my college career, I have attempted to learn as much aspossible about the field of sports management through assorted name experienceswith many different types of sports organizations. Through my experiences withpeople in a small(a) league baseball association, fitness club, public relationsdepartment, athletic departments, and miscellaneous recreation centers, I have had theopportunity to develop and hone my communion and public relation skills inseveral different areas. These experiences have helped me gain a bett erunderstanding of my career goals in the sports industry.In supplement to the time spent out in the field, my education atUniversity of Charleston has further developed my skills and knowledge of sportsmanagement, specifically in the areas of marketing, promotions, public and mediarelations, and management.
