$100 Million Donated to the Weill Cornell Medical College
Longtime benefactors Joan and Sanford Weill, together with the Weill Family Foundation, donated $100 million to the Weill Cornell Medical College. The gift will go towards Cornellââ¬â¢s $300 million campaign, Driving Discoveries, Changing Lives. This campaign, along with the completion of the Belfer Research Building (due to open in January), will help fulfill Weill Cornellââ¬â¢s vision for creating ââ¬Å"a hub for multidisciplinary biomedical research and recruit the worldââ¬â¢s best and brightest scientists to advance research and treatment of some of the most formidable health challenges,à including diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular and Alzheimers diseases.â⬠This $100 million gift will go specifically to the creation of two new centers: the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Metabolic Syndrome Center and the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Cancer Research Center.
