I do not maintain a schedule that would allow for enough quality sleep. I am also experience stress levels that are high, and suspect that lack of sleep may be a source of some of this stress. I have difficulty falling asleep and occasionally staying asleep. As a result I am often fatigued and tend to crave high fat sugary carbohydrates and overeat on them, to maintain mood and energy. The Stress in America study used a Perceived Stress Scale that participants self-monitored their stress levels by answering where they would answer such questions as â€Å"how often have you felt irritable and angry in the last month† and they could answer,(very often, sometimes, never etc.) For my purposes I asked myself the following three questions and used the following rating system to determine my stress levels that day.(Angus, n.d.) I used a data spreadsheet to record my time of rising in the morning and time of going to bed to calculate hours of sleep. At the end of the day I rated and recorded my overall feelings of stress at the end of the day with scale of 1-5. A ‘1’ being very calm and unstressed and ‘5’ not feeling very stressed. In 2014, there was a story about a young boy in North Carolina that protected his grandmother from two burglars. The boy was their helping his grandmother recover from a hip replacement. When he was in the kitchen one day, he heard the noise of glass breaking coming from the back of his grandmothers home. He ran and grabbed the loaded pistol from where he knew his grandfather had it. He than proceeded to point it at the window were the burglars were attempting to enter and told them to leave or he would fire the gun. They still proceeded with trying to come in the house when the 14 year old boy fired the gun 3 times. One of the burglars got away, but the other was not so lucky where he was hit with a fatal shot, that killed him on site where officers found him. The boy was not charged since he was just protecting his family in their home. The other burglar was caught and charged with first degree burglary. France began this era at considerable disadvantage because of the war and Bismarck's policy of isolation, which greatly hindered it's attempts to regain it's prosperity and it's influence in European affairs. France after the Franco-Prussian war was in both economic and political crises. In the treaty of Frankfurt she had agreed to pay 5 billion francs in reparations to Germany to allow a German army of occupation to remain there until the debts were paid. She had surrendered the provinces of Alsace and Lorraine to Germany, and had agreed to allow a triumphant German army to march through the streets of Paris in return for allowing France to keep the town of Belfort, in Alsace. The people of France were poor, humiliated and disillusioned with the government that had allowed the demise of their country. Furthermore, Bismarck's policy of isolation made it almost impossible for France to form alliances within Europe which would help her to regain some of her former power. The people of France were resentful towards Germany and the government was more inclined to focus on a war of revenge than the rebuilding of the country.
